You learn Chinese faster by studying less vocabulary
“why do I always feel overwhelmed with so many Chinese characters”
Your brain gets overloaded when you try to learn too much.
It's tempting to brag about knowing a vast amount of characters.
But it’s like trying to gain muscle only by increasing your calorie intake (bulking).
You gain a lot of mass but you can’t see the muscle underneath because you’re not cutting the fat by working out and doing cardio.
It’s weighing you down.
The same goes for language learning.
If you study tons of vocabulary and feel overwhelmed, you’re only bulking.
You need to cut out the fluff by studying less vocabulary and applying what learned (practice speaking).
Instead of knowing a lot of vocabulary superficially, you learn less vocabulary deeply.
This translates to better communication and conversations AND the motivation to learn more vocabulary because you are not overwhelmed.
This is one of the core principles of the Chinese Speaker:
Study less vocabulary.
Chinese Speakers are Chinese Learners who choose to speak. Because it’s a choice.
We don’t try to cram 50 words/day
We study less vocabulary and practice it by speaking
We remember vocabulary deeply because we apply/speak
Part of being a Chinese Speaker is limiting the vocabulary you study.
The goal is low-stress, consistent progress.
We do this by not overwhelming our brains, our most valuable asset.
We still learn vocabulary, but we learn it our way.
And we get conversational much faster.
In June, I’ll open up Chinese Speakers, a community where the goal is for you to speak with confidence and hold conversations with Chinese speakers.
(without cramming tons of vocabulary)
I’ll work 1-1 to help you optimize your study plan.
And I’ve made it easy to get started for $100.
But I can only handle 9 learners.
If you’d like an early invite so that you can save your spot before it gets taken,
Reply “Chinese Speakers” and I’ll let you know 1 week before we open doors.
